PHILASIA SCHOOL OF INSTRUMENTATION AND AUTOMATION (PSIA) was organized initially in January 2003 and registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission on October 21, 2003. The school was founded by five past presidents of the
Philippine Instrumentation & Control Society (PICS) and members in the TESDA* Advisory Expert Panels for Electronics Sector and for Instrumentation & Control Sub-sector, in their desire to hasten the professionalization of I&C practitioners. A critical analysis of the needs and growth of the industry made them realize that the demand for competent and competitive technicians and engineers will not be able to meet the demands of the industry not only locally, but also globally. This underscored the urgency of training technicians/engineers and developing programs to ensure that the profession remain competitive.
TESDA (Technical Education and Skills Development Authority) is a Philippine government
regulating office that provides guidelines for technical education curriculumn.
